Bourque Sees Top 10 Run Go South at Trois-Riveres

Pierre Bourque was part of the show for Sunday's 39th annual Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in Quebec.  The versatile driver drove the #29 Mohawk Internet Technologies Dodge in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event, which along with the Grand-Am Koni Challenge and the Toyota Atlantic Challenge, made up the road race weekend that entertained 60,000 race fans.  In the Canadian Tire Series race, Bourque started 13th, but had mechanical problems and finished in the 25th position.

Bourque, who appeared to be on the way to a solid top 10 finish with his Whitlock Motorsports-prepared machine, was disappointed by his bad luck, but also optimistic about the effort put forth by his team.

“We started 13th and began picking cars off right away,” said Bourque.  “I got
up to ninth place and then the engine broke (on lap 12).  I had been closing
in on the car in front of me and was hoping to keep moving forward at that
point, but it was the end of my race.  It's just bad racing luck and was my
first engine failure in a NASCAR race.  The team is a front runner and I
appreciate the hard work that crew chief Kris Reddick and effort that everyone
on the team put into this weekend.”

The race was the second time that Mohawk Internet Technologies rode with
Bourque and he couldn't have been happier about that.

“We are thrilled to have the Mohawks with us, they are huge NASCAR fans
and great people to work with.  We hope to do more with them in the future.”

Bourque is now working on finalizing his racing plans for the remainder of the
2008 season.  He hopes to compete in a variety of ARCA and NASCAR
events in both the United States and Canada.
