Bourque and Mohawk Internet Technologies Finish in Lead Pack at Montreal
When the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series visited Montreal's Ile Notre Dame on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve this weekend, Pierre Bourque had a tough road ahead of him. As a 4th fastest time in first practice led to 14th fastest in the second thanks to nagging brake problems that festered for the balance of the day, Bourque qualified 17th with his #29 Mohawk Internet Technologies Dodge on a track that is notoriously hard to pass at. Still, he had enough faith in the performance of his Whitlock Motorsports-prepared machine that he predicted a top ten finish was possible.
Bourque almost made good on that prediction. He raced hard all race long and ran out of laps to accomplish his goal. Bourque finished 11 th in a fast-paced race that saw little attrition.
"I ran a hard and clean race,” said Bourque. “ My Mohawk Internet
Technologies Dodge Avenger finished in the lead pack in 11th place. It is a
track difficult to overtake on and there was very little attrition, but we ran strong
and I am proud of how hard my Whitlock Motorsports crew worked to give me
such a great car to race."
The Montreal event was the first-ever venture for Mohawks in NASCAR and
Bourque was proud to represent them.
"I am really excited about this groundbreaking collaboration with Mohawk
Internet Technologies,” said Bourque. “not only am I thrilled to have their
support, but I am also a longtime client and I can attest first-hand to the quality
and performance of their cutting-edge services and technology."
"In over 400 years, the Mohawk people have never been defeated in battle, and
it is with that knowledge and sense of history that we are proud to place the
name of Mohawk Internet Technologies on the car of #29, Mr. Pierre Bourque,
whom we believe will carry that tradition forward,” said Chuck Barnett, Board of Supervisors for Mohawk Internet Technologies.
