Pierre Bourque Gets Truck Series Start Number One Under His Belt
Pierre Bourque made his first foray into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this weekend at O’Reilly Raceway Park (IN). Rain washed out qualifying which left Bourque and the Fast Track Racing team with a starting spot of 34th in the event. After being involved in a wreck, Bourque was credited with an eventual 36th-place finish.

Still, the race was a very positive experience for both driver and team.
"I really enjoyed my first Craftsman Truck race and I want to thank team owner Andy Hillenburg, crew chief Rob Torrie, and the whole crew at Fast Track Racing, who worked very hard to put us in the race," said Bourque. "NASCAR asked us to make some rear-end changes to the truck after rookie practice, which prevented us from getting out in the final practice. But the end result was that I immediately felt comfortable in the truck from the very first laps on through the balance of the day.
“It's a shame that qualifying got washed out because of rain, but we started the race 34th and after a handful of laps to get accustomed to the pace, we began to run hard and we were not only keeping up with the pack, but we were gaining on those right in front of us. Unfortunately, we got pinched in
corner one by a faster truck, which spun me around, and allowed the 08 truck
to ram my front end. Not the best way to end an event, but hey, that's racin'."
Now Bourque can’t wait to get another shot at the Craftsman Truck Series – and with a line-up of good sponsors and bright opportunities, that might not be too far away.
"I guess I must have left a good impression,” said Bourque. “Not only does Fast Track want me back for more, but I've been approached by two other teams interested in my services.
"I want to thank Driving.Ca, Canada.Com, Working.Com, and Dose.Ca for supporting me this season. It's been invaluable. I also want to acknowledge the sustaining support of Full Metal Minerals, Sonomax, and Immunotec as well."
